Philanthropy

Working for charities has been something I’ve been involved in for over 20 years in both Melbourne, and Singapore.

During my childhood, my father and grandfather were active in supporting the local communities where they lived, and I’ve carried on this family tradition.

Real hands-on work like cleaning floors, cooking food, setting up events, loading and unloading trucks, packing bags of food, preparing meals, distributing food to the needy and doing the book-keeping.

I’ve served on the committee of a charity, Freemasons Community Relief, in Melbourne since 2015, and participated remotely since moving to Singapore.

At Christmas 2024, I organised a shipping container to be used as temporary store for distribution of food parcels to the needy in Melbourne Bayside.

For the last two years, I’ve held the role of treasurer in my Singapore lodge, contributing long hours to ensuring the financial stability of the lodge and ensuring the financial governance and compliance meet local and global regulations.

In early 2024, I worked with the Masonic Charitable Fund in Singapore to initiate a perpetual bursary at the National University of Singapore – School of Design and Engineering.

This was endowment was established in the memory of my father,  John S Lodge. Together with the other MCF bursaries – there are now 17 students who suffer financial hardship every year who gain access to bursaries that allow them to continue their studies.

Philanthropy is part of who I am – and if you’d like to know more about how you can contribute.
